At Zico, we love meeting football supporters with a passion for the history of the game. Every so often though, someone walks through the door with a collection that leaves everyone speechless.

This week, football memorabilia collector John Scott Dalton brought his remarkable private collection of vintage, match-worn Brazil shirts to Zico at The Barras. Without question, it is the finest private collection of Brazil shirts we have ever had the privilege to see.
Among the highlights were some truly historic pieces:
- 1982 Brazil shirt, signed by Zico, Leandro and Júnior.
- 1982 Éder Brazil training and travel shirt.
- 1981 Toninho Cerezo match-worn No.5 shirt featuring the rare double Topper logo.
- 1985 Topper Brasil track top.
- 1983 Copa América match-worn shirt of the legendary Roberto Dinamite.
- 1986 Zico match-worn shirt from his final appearance for Brazil against Yugoslavia.
- 1982 World Cup qualifying track top worn by Brazil manager Telê Santana.
- Match-worn shirts belonging to Brazilian greats Ronaldinho and Sócrates.

For anyone who grew up watching the great Brazil sides of the 1970s and 1980s, these shirts represent far more than football memorabilia. They are pieces of football history, worn by some of the greatest players ever to grace the game.

The highlight of the day for us was having the opportunity to wear one of these priceless jerseys and, incredibly, to have Zico’s final Brazil match-worn shirt hanging inside the fashion store that proudly bears his name.

It was one of those moments that reminded us why we love football, why we love collecting, and why we continue to celebrate the game’s rich history here at Zico.

A huge thank you to John Scott Dalton for trusting us with these incredible treasures and for sharing his passion with our customers. It is a visit that none of us at Zico will ever forget.

If this is the standard for Collector No.2, we can’t wait to see who features next in our growing Zico’s Football Fans Collectors series.

We shot a documentary film of this visit which will be out later this month as John talked us through his amazing collection which he has spent the last 40 years building up.

Do you own a unique football collection? Whether it’s shirts, programmes, tickets, boots, medals or memorabilia, we’d love to feature you. Bring your collection into Zico at The Barras, and you could be the next football fan to appear on our blog.
