Joe Miller visited Zico’s in the Barras after completing The Great Scottish Run back in October 2023, and is pictured here below.
Best known for his time at Celtic FC, where he came through as part of a successful side in the late 1980s, Miller built a reputation as a wide player who contributed to one of the more competitive eras in Scottish football. He also went on to represent clubs including Aberdeen FC and had a long professional career across the Scottish leagues.
His visit to Zico’s reflects the long memory of Scottish football within the city, where former players remain part of everyday life in and around Glasgow rather than removed from it.
Zico’s sits within that same working football landscape of the Barras, where matchdays, old connections, and regular footfall from the game continue to overlap with the shop’s community.
